The following defines our history, beliefs and philosophy of ministry to our church family and community:

Our main meetings are held at Great Oaks School, Vermont Close, Southampton but we have several groups that meet throughout the city.

Our church is made up of all kinds of different people from all over the world. Here are some of the people you might meet:
When you arrive you'll be greeted by one of our welcome team and hopefully be made to feel at home.

Some of our musicians will then lead the congregation in about 30 minutes of congregational singing and prayer. The songs have a definite "indie" feel and are a mixture of hymns and modern songs. You are free to join in singing or just observe.

Once the singing is over, Joe will tell us what is happening during the week and it is at this time children should be taken to their classes. Parents need to sign children in and out afterwards.

Then we have a Bible talk, usually given by Simon. We devote around 45 minutes to going through the bible so it's important if you have a bible to bring it along (don't worry if you don't as we always have spares!).

After the Bible talk we stay around to chat over a tea or coffee.

It's a relaxed atmosphere at Calvary. Some of our congregation wear shirts and tie but most wear casual clothes such as jeans and t-shirts.

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church that began with twenty-five people in California in 1965 and was a key church that reached out to the youth of the counter-culture, the drug users and hippies. The outreach later become known as the Jesus Movement as God gave the increase and thousands gave their lives to Christ.

We believe in all the fundamental doctrines of the evangelical Protestant church. For example, we believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

We’ve never endeavoured to become a church that had a lot of programs and activities. Rather, our desire is to be yielded to what God wants to do through the unique gifts and talents of the individuals that make up Calvary Chapel. We believe that the church is God’s instrument to equip the saints, and reach the lost.

Calvary Chapel meets Sundays at 10:30am at Great Oaks School, Vermont Close, Southampton and throughout the week around the city
